Hello Future Goalies,

Have you ever wanted to try out the goalie position, wear the cool gear, all while receiving professional goalie instruction for FREE?!?!  Well now this is your chance!!!

AHAI Tier III Committee and USA Hockey are hosting a series of Try Goalie for Free Days at various rinks in the area, including at West Medows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows on Friday, August 8.  This clinic is designed and targeted for future goalies aged 6-8 AND 9-12 years old whom have not played the position and/or have a year or so of experience. 

Thanks to our partners at Pure Hockey and Bauer, the rink will have beginner quick change gear for goalies available for use at this event.  This gear is designed to go OVER your skater gear and can be changed in under 60 seconds.  Everyone that registers for the clinic should have full hockey gear to wear on the ice.  If you don't have a bag of skater gear to wear and you still want to tryout the position, please let us know in advance and we will try and have some lender skater gear available for you to wear as well. 

Please make sure to bring your own hockey cup to play goalie at this event.    

If you are new to the position and have your own goalie gear, you’re welcome to wear that to the event. 

It's recommended that the future goalies arrive no later than 4:45pm in order to check in and to start getting ready.  However, if the skater needs lender goalie equipment to use, we recommend that those participants arrive to the rink by 4:30pm to make sure they have enough time for check in and to get fitted for their lender gear.  We want to make sure that all of the goalies are ready to go and that they aren't late for their free goalie session.
